With a BSc (Hons) in Equine Management and extensive practical experience, Marita specialises in improving comfort, communication, and performance through correct bit and bridle selection. During a consultation, Marita carries out a thorough assessment of the horse’s head and oral conformation, responses to the bit and bridle, way of going under saddle, and reactions to different options. She brings a wide range of bits and bridles for trial to suit different horses, disciplines, and budgets, ensuring every combination is tailored to the individual horse’s anatomy and way of going. Marita works as a consultant rather than a sales provider, offering completely independent and impartial advice with no pressure to purchase. While she may occasionally have a limited selection of second-hand items available, her primary role is to guide owners and riders in selecting the most suitable tack. She is also happy to assist in sourcing or ordering the correct bit or bridle once the best option has been identified. As an equine lecturer and a member of several recognised professional registers, including the Equine Fitters Directory, the Association of Professional Bit and Bridle Fitters, and the Equine Accredited Professionals Ethos Register, Marita combines evidence-based knowledge with a welfare-focused approach.
